VPRA IS A VOLUNTARY ORGANISATION, FORMED IN 2004 & RECOGNISED BY BCP COUNCIL
WE COVER A TRIANGULAR AREA FROM SEA VIEW TO CHURCH ROAD,
bordering SPRINGFIELD ROAD and CONSTITUTION HILL ROAD,
also including FELTON ROAD and WOOLVEN CLOSE
FOR A SMALL ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION OF £7.00 PER HOUSEHOLD WE REPRESENT OUR RESIDENTS’
INTERESTS IN :
-PLANNING MATTERS
-SECURITY & SAFETY (NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH & COMMUNITY SPEED WATCH) ;
-CONSERVATION
WE - hold 2 or 3 public meetings on relevant local issues a year;
- communicate with our members via a monthly newsletter;
- under Police guidance conduct regular Speed Watch sessions locally;
- hold a monthly litter-pick at Sea View ;
- and in ‘taking a pride in our area’, we assist the council clearing verges and paths
What we’ve achieved:
- Successfully challenged a proposed boundary change to move part of VPRA into Oakdale
keeping the Parkstone Heritage Boundary.
- Included Neighbourhood Watch into a Residents’ Association.
- Planted two trees for ‘The Jubilee’.
- Assisted the Council with coppicing, clearing pond and culverts in the North Road
Playing Fields – with the vision of establishing a Local Nature Reserve.
- With Council support, improved security and introduced signage at ‘The Viewpoint’.
